CLUB RULES
1.
Respect must be shown for the Dojo, the Tatami, your instructors and other Judoka at all times.
2.
You must adhere to Sensei’s instructions at all times.
3.
Personal Hygiene - finger nails, toe nails, must be kept short, hands and feet must be kept clean, also Judo suits must be kept clean and in good repair at all times. CHECKS WILL BE MADE AT LESSONS.
4.
No JEWELLERY of any kind is allowed on the mat.
5.
Female students must wear a white full length T-shirt under their Judo suits - no crop tops etc.
6.
Footwear must be worn off the mat.
7.
Permission must be given before stepping onto/leaving the mat by Sensei or most senior grade on the mat.
8.
Judo must NEVER be performed outside the Dojo unless as an act of self defence.
9.
The correct colour belt for your grade must be worn at all times.
10.
Any cuts grazes etc., must be covered with a suitable dressing. More severe cuts/injuries will require the permission from sensei before you can train, sometimes you may not be able to train.
11.
Anyone suffering form athletes foot, verruca’s etc., should inform Sensei on arrival, then a clean white sock should be worn before stepping onto the mat.
12.
No smoking in the Dojo or the Martial Arts and Fitness Centre.
13.
No bad Language to be used in the Dojo.
14.
No bullying of any kind will be tolerated.
15.
Excessive noise is unacceptable, and talking kept to the minimum.
16.
Anyone talking when Sensei is talking will be asked to the leave the mat.
17.
Judoka only allowed in the Dojo - unless by prior arrangement from Sensei.
18.
Only Sensei will issue instructions, students should not “take it upon themselves” to instruct/discipline others, unless under direct instruction from Sensei.
19.
Under no circumstances should nail polish be worn on the mat.
20.
Any disagreements between students should be dealt with outside the dojo.
Failure to observe any of the above rules will result in the appropriate punishment for the offence made as decided by Sensei.
Whilst the club policy is not to stop students acquiring knowledge from outside the club, only that which is taught in the club will be allowed in the Dojo, unless approved by Sensei. This to protect all students, in the event that acquired knowledge may or may not be incorrect, thus avoiding the risk of injury to students.
PERSONAL INSURANCE
All students will register through the club with NAKMAS for general liability, the only exceptions will be students who already have liability insurance via another club, however proof will be required, and failure to show proof will result in that person or persons not being permitted to train. Proof and or application will be required after the third lesson.
MAT FEES
A minimum fee must be paid on or before the 3rd lesson per month. This is to retain your student place on the register, failure to pay your mat fees on time will cost you your place on the mat, if your place is then given to somebody else you will not be permitted to train. Payments must be made on or before the 3rd lesson of each calendar month; fees will only be transferable in extreme genuine circumstances. Students will not be penalised if they are genuinely ill or injured, provided full details are given to Sensei.
