Duffryn Judo Club began in A pril 2008
Our Cheif instructor for both clubs is  Sensei Steve Morgan ~ Sandan, (center) he is assisted by Sensei's

Sensei Steve started Judo in 1980 at Dean Judo Club at the age of 13 and expresses gratitude to his instructors Sensei D Dean, Sensei A Dean and Sensei R Canterbury. He achieved the grade of Shodan in 1999, Nidan in 2005 and Sandan in 2009.
Gareth began his training in Judo in 1995 at Dean Judo Club age 6 In 1998 he joined Maindee Judo Club and acheived his grade of Shodan in 2005, and Nidan in 2009.
He is the main instructor for Duffryn Judo Club.
Rob started his training with the club in 2001 and recently achieved his grade of Shodan in 2008. He currently assists with teaching at both Maindee and Duffryn Clubs.

Together we aim to bring to you the teachings of Jigaro Kano and for you to understand enjoy and practice Judo as a Martial Art.

We are affiliated with the National Association of Karate and Martial Arts Schools, National Governing Body. NAKMAS, and part of a family of Martial Artists at the Martial Arts and Fitness Center in Newport. All our Instructors are CRB checked and we are accredited with the NAKMAS Safe Kids Campaign.

Although Judo is well known as a competitive sport, we do not expect students to become elite sportsman, our aim is to share Judo with people from all backgrounds and to share in acquiring knowledge of  The Martial Arts.

We welcome people from all walks of life and encourage students to understand the philosphies and principal teachings of Judo
